Many people live their lives on auto-pilot. They get up each morning to rush to a job they don’t particularly like, in order to fund a lifestyle that they’re not particularly excited about. They spend an enormous amount of energy maintaining a persona: a facsimile of a respectable person, a hard-working person, a family-loving person, a fun-loving person, a good friend, a respectable citizen and so on. All of these personas are only a fraction of what is inside each individual, and is often tied to an idea of how the person should behave according to external rules dictated by family, culture and society, but it is a one-dimensional entity – a parody of the rich tapestry that goes to make up a human being. The totality of every person is so much more than that – and yet this totality that was such a promise as a child will be hidden behind so many layers of muck and disillusionment.

Coaching is a process that is undertaken by an individual to scrape off all those layers of muck that have accumulated over the years and get back to the source of delight, opportunity, excitement, creativity and possibilities in life. It is a journey that is not for the faint-hearted, but neither is it a waste of time. Rather it is a rebirth of potential and well worth the time and money expended – the returns for undertaking coaching are not quantifiable, and your life will never be the same!

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,

And eternity in an hour.”
